Two of our nieces, Sofia and Gabi, live in Steeler country and are big fans. Unfortunately, even their support and oversized Terrible Towel weren't enough to see the Steelers to a Super Bowl win.
That's Sofia on the left and Gabi on the right. Aren't they the cutest little dumplings ever? I think Sofia is a pierogi and Gabi's a ravioli.
Anyway, once the Giants and the Jets were out of the running, I was not as interested in the playoffs and Super Bowl. I also like the Colts bc I like the way Peyton Manning works, plays and leads so I was kinda bummed when they didn't make it to the big game. Wish baby brother would take a page or two from Peyton's book.
I watched the whole Super Bowl (although I missed the flubbing of the national anthem). It was an okay game. Nothing real exciting (certainly not the half-time show -- I clicked over to Puppy Bowl at that point; I missed the chicken cheerleaders they added this year!), except for when the Steelers started catching up to the Packers. No holy-cow-that-was-unbelievable plays. It had some interesting moments, but nothing outstanding which is too bad bc it's always fun when a Super Bowl is special and memorable (although I'm sure it's memorable for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers).
So another football season over until pre-season which is -- when? -- August, I think. What Kevin will do with himself on Sundays and Monday nights, I just don't know.
