Clara's nickname is Pickles with, of course, seemingly endless variations: Picklekins, Pickadilly, Picklebald, Pixie, The Pickled One, The Pickled Wonder, Picklelicious.... She earned that nickname by exhibiting such sourpuss expressions that it reminded me of the phrase, 'she looks like she was weaned on a pickle'.

I've made my point, no? To be sure, the above pictures are not representative of Clara's true beauty. Perhaps she was merely expressing her displeasure at having a camera stuck in her face yet again. Maybe she was annoyed by one of the younger whippersnappers that have invaded her home. Maybe she just doesn't like me. In any event, I have, on the occasional occasion, been able to capture her beautiful self on camera for posterity. I leave you with these felicitous images. Regard.

A recent favorite, Exhibit B (envoûtant!):
Heh...very beautiful (in an intimidating way.) I've never seen a cat with persistent expressions like that. Do you suppose she's Leona Helmsley reincarnated? (Please take no offense-she's a very beautiful cat. :)

Heh. In Clara's defense, I will get the camera to take a picture when I see she's looking particularly picklelicious. Also, she's an ex-feral who's been with us for 9 years and hasn't quite yet figured out that we're trustworthy. Oh and further to Clara's defense, she was sick in the Exhibit 3 picture (my favorite). She'd had some infected teeth removed and was on meds for the infection.
I love my pickly little girl!
