This place is crawling with cats. And there's something going on with almost every one of them:
- Miles & Lizzie
- Nosey
- still has blood in his urine after several tries with antibiotics
- so now he gets to go for an x-ray and possible ultrasound
- I hope it's something relatively simple, e.g., a bladder stone
- Smudgie
- had a checkup with Dr. Risbon at RBVH last week
- he's still losing weight - he was 8.5 lb. at his checkup
- stopped Leukeran (chlorambucil)
- today he started a new protocol:
- Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide) 4 days on/3 days off
- weekly blood work
- budesonide daily
- his crypto titer was negative for the third month in a row
- he'll continue taking fluconazole for two months past this third consecutive negative result
- Dolly
- she's been getting budesonide which does seem to be helping
- she hit 6 lb. recently and has gone up to 6.2 lb.!
- adding leukeran (once every 3 days) starting tomorrow or Friday
- in addition to Miles & Lizzie getting Panecure, the others cats will get strongid on the off chance they got worms from the kittens
- grrrrrr
It's like a feline pharmacy and nursing home here. BTW, all those links about the various drugs mentioned above come from the very informative website of Mar Vista Animal Medical Center in LA. Thank you Mar Vista for posting all that pharmaceutical info!
And now, bc I can, I shall indulge myself by posting a picture of Clara & Smudgie snuggling. It looks like someone glued them together.
