We have no cancer todaaaaaayyy! Back from my second mammogram appointment and there's nothing to worry about. They took a few pictures of my left breast, where they had seen something in the initial pictures. Let's see, I think they repeated the standard side and top views. They also took some 'coned down' pictures, which is when they use a smaller paddle for the squishing. It also hurts more than the regular paddles. I don't know why that is; maybe the pressure is greater with smaller paddles. With any paddle, it's only painful for maybe 10 seconds and then the pain's gone completely, so it's not a big deal.
Anyway, I think the coned down picture is supposed to apply pressure to a focus point in order to examine that area better. The new pictures spreads things out. If the node-like thing is no longer visible, that means it was healthy tissue that just looked funky from the original view. That was the case w/my node-like thing. I didn't even need the ultrasound. So it's back to annual mammograms from now on.
What a nice post for my 500th post!
Congrats!
