So, now that it's official, I've got about 8 months before applications are once again due. I want to come up with a game plan for this time period. So far, I'm thinking things to improve:
- the writing sample
- the sop and tailor it to the different programs
- the GRE, especially math and writing. My verbal was 720, which isn't bad, so even though I'll study to improve on the verbal section, I'll focus more on the math section, on which I scored 630. And somehow I scored 4.5 on the writing exercise, which was disappointing. The 630 wasn't surprising, but the 4.5 was. I have mixed feelings about spending too much time on improving my GRE scores. I think of them as less important bc it seems like programs just use them to lop off a bunch of people in the first pass. Unless they use it for anything else, it seems like my scores are good enough and perhaps my time would be better spent elsewhere. Hmmm. I'll have to think on that some more.
So that's what I've got so far re: what to try to improve. Ito things to change: I reckon I oughta think over the process...see what I'd do differently this time around.
