America has some other great songs--Sister Golden Hair and Ventura Highway. But you're right, "A Horse With No Name" is not only not its best, but is overplayed (or was).

What about (don't remember the exact title, but it has this main lyric): "Yummy Yummy Yummy, I've got love in my tummy, and I don't know what to do with it"?

Have you seen Dave Barry's "Book of Bad Songs"? There's lots of good material there.

Yanno, I'm afraid I have to disagree w/you re: America having any good songs. I think it's bc I don't like their voices...to me they sound like uber-groovy, spineless wussy hippie throwbacks. That's kinda harsh, huh?

Here's your yummy yummy yummy lyrics. Thanks a lot for that suggestion, Matt...not only is that song stuck in my head now, but I'm walking around the house singing it!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.
I got love in my tummy,
And I feel like a-lovin you:
Love, you're such a sweet thing,
Good enough to eat thing
And that's just a-what I'm gonna do...

I believe that "We Built this City" by Starship should get at least an honorable mention in this contest.

Annie

Re: "We Built This City": Absolutely! I only hesitate to give it more than an honorable mention at this time bc it seems to be trendy to hate this song. When the trend passes, I'l be able to more objectively assess how bad it truly is.

Annie

Thanks to Matt for this suggestion: Morris Albert's "Feelings". A serious contender!
