Today we feature Willow, my in-laws' cat. Willow was approximately 1 year old when this picture was taken in October, 2010. We hadn't seen her in over a year and she had been a small, young cat at that time. I was surprised to see how she fluffed out. She truly is fluffy; I'm not just saying "fluffy" when actually I mean "fat".
Willow came into my ILs' lives at a young age (for her, less so for them) so she's had a lot of socialization. I believe she was at a shelter since birth or close to it, so she got a lot of socialization there as well. And it shows: she seems very comfortable around people, although I understand ruckus grandchildren can be a bit offputting.
I was hoping that she would visit us in bed overnight during our visit, perhaps even snuggle up with us in bed. I left the door slightly ajar for just that purpose. I think she came through, hopping on and off the bed pretty quickly. Somebody came through; whether or not it was her, I don't know. It could have been the less socialized Misty scoping us out under cover of darkness.
And she's so soft! It's too bad the picture doesn't offer Scritch-O-Vision so you could give her a little scritch behind the ears and a little pet down her back and -- oh! that tail! It's like an entity unto itself.
Thanks for joining in on Weekend Cat Blogging!

That beautiful face reminds me of a Picasso painting! Happy 2011!
