This is my little lady, Clara, sitting in a very ladylike pose. I call this 'sitting on her stomach'. Smudgie sits like this an awful lot, but, then again, he's got an awful lot more stomach.
I'm very concerned about my NoseyCat. Last night, I noticed a spot of dried bright yellow who-knows-what on the comforter. Not seeing how it got there and, if a cat put it there, not knowing who put it there, there's not much one can do. Actually, I had had TexMex and thought that, since I was feeling so tired and like I was coming down with a cold, that maybe I slobbered something on me and brought it to bed with me. I know, I'm a class act. But such was not the case. I wish that it were! Just about an hour ago, Nosey yakked up a small blob of the stuff. It's bright yellow, just like bright yellow hot dog mustard.
I'm very concerned about him, for several reasons. No one's ever been able to figure out what his basic problem is, ie, why he has a chronic runny nose. He had that blockage last fall which was thought to prolly be a mega-hairball. Whatever it was musta come out, he recovered and was back to normal. Now he's recently had another yak-related episode, this time w/o a blockage. He seemed to be recovering, although he's remained a subdued version of himself.
I just spoke w/Dr. Slade, who told me to weigh him, discuss w/Kevin what we want to do and then get back to her. She outlined the probable next steps. I weighed him and he's 13 lb. 12 oz. Not good. He's lost weight since our last home weighing, which was shortly after his mega-hairball visit. I believe he was 16 lb. 8 oz. then. The next steps are to send him back to the referral center (it's an ER at night and a specialist referral center during the day). The ER vet saw him last fall. One of the specialists will see him by appointment, hopefully within the next coupla days.
I think they'll do at least x-rays, prolly an ultrasound, maybe an echocardiogram, prolly blood tests. He just had bloodwork a coupla weeks ago, but I guess liver problems can develop quite suddenly. I dunno; I could be getting all this info all screwed up.
I'm also very concerned about Kevin bc he's just gaga over his little NoseyCat. They are the best of buds.
I had meant to call the doctor anyway bc Dolly's been having diarrhea a bit lately and maybe we should put her back on prednisone, but I forgot about all that what w/Nosey's problem.
We did have a tiny bit of good news and that's that Smudgie's over his cold. Yay.
